AudioQuest Tower (Jack Extension Cable)

The Audioquest Tower is the entry-level model from the Bridges & Falls series. Available in various finishes such as RCA and Jack.

SOLID LONG-GRAIN COPPER (LGC) CONDUCTORS: Solid conductors prevent mutual interference between wires in twisted pair cables. The solid Long-Grain Copper in the Tower provides a smoother and brighter tone than is possible with cables using plain OFHC (Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity) copper. OFHC is a generic specification in the metal industry that only looks at “loss” without regard to distortion. LGC has fewer oxides in the conductive material, fewer impurities, fewer interfaces between the copper atoms, and certainly offers better audio performance.

FOAMED POLYETHYLENE INSULATION: Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is in principle part of an imperfect circuit. The insulation of cables and the materials of which printed circuit boards are made absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then released as deformation. Tower uses air-foamed polyethylene for the insulation of both conductors because air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene has a low loss and a harmless distortion profile. Thanks to the air in foamed PE, it causes much less out-of-focus effects than other materials.

METAL-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% shielding is easy. Preventing captured RF disturbances from modulating the equipment’s ground potential requires AQ’s Noise-Dissipation System. Noise-Dissipation System prevents much of the captured RFI from reaching equipment ground.

DOUBLE BALANCED A-SYMMETRIC GEOMETRY: Specially designed for single-ended applications, it provides relatively lower ground impedance and a richer and more dynamic experience. While most single-ended cable designs use the same conductor for both ground and shield, the Dual-Balanced design separates them for cleaner, quieter performance.

COLD WELDED GOLD PLATED RCA PLUGS: This plug design allows connection without solder, a common source of distortion. Because the plugs are not machined but pressed, a metal with low distortion can be chosen without having to take machining into account.
