The BC3 from Topping is a High-Res Bluetooth Wireless Receiver on battery with integrated DAC.

Thanks to its CSR8675 Bluetooth chip, the device supports the best Bluetooth audio standards available to date (BT 5.0 SBC / AAC / apt-X / aptX – LL / apt-X HD / LDAC) and can handle sampling frequencies up to  24bit – 96kHz.

Its wide range of connectors (Mini-Toslink, Line output, headphone output) makes it an ideal solution for easily connecting your bluetooth audio sources to your DACs, integrated amplifiers or headphones.

Its analog audio circuit also benefits from an ESS ES9018Q2C DAC offering excellent audio performance with THD+N <= 0.002% @ 1kHz on its headphone output and <0.001% on its line output for a noise level <2.3uVrms.

Bluetooth 5.0 apt-X HD & LDAC

The BCE3 receiver has a CSR8675 5.0 bluetooth chip on board that is compatible with the following protocols:

• SBC / AAC
• apt-X
• aptX – Low Latency
• apt-X HD
• LDAC

The CSR8675 chip can receive digital audio streams with a sample rate of up to 96kHz-24bit for very high quality wireless reception.

The device is therefore Hi-Res Audio Wireless certified.

DAC ESS ES9018Q2C

The analog outputs (line output and headphone output) make the most of a decoding circuit based on an ES9018Q2C DAC chip.

This chip incorporates its own headphone amplification circuit capable of directly driving your headphones without going through an external amplifier. A simple and efficient way to use your wired headsets & IEM with a Bluetooth source while taking advantage of an excellent battery.

The line output is ideal for adding high quality Bluetooth connectivity to your integrated amplifiers or active speakers. It is also a very practical tool for adding bluetooth connectivity to a car’s on-board sound system: once the line output of the BC3 is connected to the line input, each passenger can send their audio files independently.

Mini Toslink Optical Output

When not used as a line output, the 3.5mm output can also be used as a digital SPDIF output on mini-toslink port.

A mini-toslink to toslink adapter is provided to allow you to easily connect all kinds of digital audio devices.

This output allows you to connect your bluetooth sources to a DAC or DSP that does not have a native Bluetooth input in order to use it wirelessly and easily switch between audio sources.

With a suitable source, it is thus possible to send a 96kHz bluetooth LDAC signal to the BC3 and to recover an SPDIF signal without degrading this high sampling rate on the mini Toslink output.

800mAh Battery

Topping’s BC3 nomadic Bluetooth 5.0 receiver has an 800mAh battery.

The latter follows a 3-hour charge cycle and can easily last 11 hours of once fully charged.

Charging is done with ease using the supplied USB-C cable.
